The Types of Phrasal Verb Quiz

Are you up for a challenge? Do you have a good knowledge of phrasal verbs? Do you know the difference between transitive and intransitive, or an ergative verb from a prepositional verb. I have to admit, I didn't until quite recently, and I'm a native speaker.

It is difficult. As a result, this quiz is aimed at upper intermediate and advanced students. Don't let that put you off though. Doing this quiz, like doing all the quizzes, is a fun learning experience. If you have a little fun and learn something, you get double the benefit. So, have a go. You've nothing to lose.

What's in this Types of Phrasal Verb quiz?

As usual, there are 10 multiple choice questions so it shouldn't take more than a few minutes. The questions do not test your knowledge of phrasal verbs - that's for other quizzes. This quiz tests your knowledge on the different types of phrasal verb.

Have a go, you've nothing to lose. Click the button on the image below to begin.

What's next?

Now you've done the quiz it's time to test your knowledge of individual phrasal verbs. Check them out in the related posts below or on the homepage.

If you didn't do so well, that's OK. You can always come back another time and do the quiz again.
